The second T20I between India and New Zealand was played today at Auckland. The New Zealand team batted first and was able to board a total of 158 runs by losing 8 wickets. Whereas the Indian team took away the match from the Kiwis by scoring 162 in the 19th over. India did the levelizer for the three match series and the third T20I is yet to be played on 10th of this month.
The New Zealand batsmen were not able to score a reasonable total that would be enough for the visitors to score. They put up the total of 158 runs and the top order rippled very soon. The highest run getter from the blackcaps was Colin de Grandhomme scoring 50 runs. It was Kunal Pandya who proved his presence in the squad by taking 3 wickets.
Rohit Sharma was the hitman of the Indian squad. He scored a half century for the team. The team finished the match in the 19th over by scoring 162 runs after losing 3 wickets. It was Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni who finished off the innings. Pant played a fast and energetic innings scoring 40 and the cool MS Dhoni scored 20.
The match had an exciting finish though. It is good to see Indian team in the absence of Virat Kohli. The decider will be played on 10th of March and it will be the series decider.
