In the world of controversy i.e. bollywood another controversy that arose this week after the release of Thackeray trailer. The film is produced by senior leader Sanjay Raut and the lead role is played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film is expected to be the first blockbuster of the year and has already started to create a buzz with a controversy.
The trailor was a big hit in youtube and has been said that Nawaz has been playing the role very efficiently. It is a biopic about the founder of the eminent ruling party in Maharashtra Shivsena. The story wholly revolves around how the party was established and what was the other factors Balasaheb led in his whole life. It was surprising to see the senior leader of the Sena Sanjay Raut turning to be producer of the movie.
The film has already been in the controversy in many factors such as Babri Masjid issue and the South Indian community issue. The South Indian community issue gained a leap after the tweet of the south superstar Siddharth calls out Thackrey as the anti-south Indian. He tweets the following saying that “Nawazuddin has repeated ‘Uthao lungi bajao pungi’ (lift the lungi and *’#$ him) in the film #Thackeray. Clearly hate speech against South Indians… In a film glorifying the person who said it! Are you planning to make money out of this propaganda? Stop selling hate! Scary stuff!” – tweeted Siddharth mentioning a dialogue from the film, which is clearly against the South Indian community that had settled in Mumbai in the 1960s.

The CBFC has taken into consideration certain scenes that needs to be edited. But Sena leader Raut says that “Nobody can ban the film.” The film fraternity hopes that the film environment remains calm and all the good takes place.
The film is directed by Abhijit Panse and scheduled to hit the screens on the birth anniversary of Balasaheb Thackrey i.e. on 23rd January 2019. It will be releasing in Hindi and Marathi.
