The Facebook owned tech giant company ‘Whatsapp’ is all set to bring an interesting update which will enhance the security options in the most useful app of today’s date Whatsapp. It is almost used by every adult or even children of today’s date. Whatsapp is expected to bring the fingerprint lock feature in the app as well as to the chats independently.
WhatsApp is set to add the fingerprint scanner feature that is expected to add a new layer of security to chats. The latest WhatsApp fingerprint lock feature has been spotted in testing with select users on Android and can be expected to be rolled out to everyone in the coming weeks. Notably, the feature has been spotted in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.19.3 which means Android users will be the first ones to get it followed by iOS users.
Til date WhatsApp is using end to end encryption for securing its chats. The app with the fingerprint feature will just add another level of security option. WhatsApp is the most widely used instant messaging service globally, and the Facebook-owned platform tries to keep adding new features to make it relevant for it’s over billion daily active users. The latest in the series is the new fingerprint lock feature that has been spotted by WABetainfo, which keeps a track on the upcoming WhatsApp feature when they are in the testing phase.
WABetainfo reports that WhatsApp is also working to integrate Face ID and Touch ID to its iOS version. However, the feature is currently in development and will take some time to be available to all users. Considering that the newest iPhones – iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR doesn’t support fingerprint authentication, we can expect Face ID to be the default WhatsApp authentication method.
